Our mission is to empower youth and communities to heal and thrive through nature-based experiences, creative expression, and social-emotional learning
Our Vision
A world where every child and community has access to healing spaces that nurture wellbeing, creativity, and connection with nature.
Our Program:
Flourish Philly - Healing Gardens Initiative (Pilot Summer 2026)
Our pilot program aims to transform school and community gardens into spaces of healing and growth for youth in South and West Philadelphia. Through partnerships with local schools, clinicians, and artists, we will integrate mindfulness, art, and nature-based learning to support emotional well-being and creativity.
This year, we’re launching our first two pilot sites at:
Comegys Elementary School (West Philadelphia)
A South Philadelphia School (TBD)
Each site will host a Healing Garden — an outdoor classroom and gathering space designed for reflection, art-making, and social-emotional learning.
Program Components
🌱 Garden Revitalization
Through collaboration with students, teachers, and volunteers, we will transform underutilized green spaces into welcoming, vibrant gardens that reflect the spirit of each community.
🎨 Art & Clay Workshops
In partnership with The Clay Studio, students explore self-expression through clay and mixed-media art inspired by nature, while learning mindfulness and reflection.
🧘 Mindfulness & Wellbeing Sessions
Guided by social workers and social emotional learning (SEL) coaches, students will practice breathing, yoga, journaling, and grounding exercises that build self-awareness and resilience.
🌻 Youth Leadership & Reflection
Older students are trained as Peer Wellness Ambassadors — helping facilitate activities, document stories, and lead community showcase events.
🎉 Community Showcase
Each school concludes the program with a garden celebration featuring student artwork, music, and storytelling that honors growth and community connection.
Our Why:
The Heart of The Nature Clinic
For far too many, healing and genuine rest have become privileges — accessible only to those with income, time, or access.
The Nature Clinic provides holistic, nature-based healing experiences for youth and communities impacted by trauma and systemic barriers to care.
Our work begins in schools and community spaces where access to mental health support and green space is often limited. We believe healing is multidimensional and that it must nourish the mind, body, and spirit while rebuilding a sense of connection to community and to the natural world.
Our communities — especially Black, Brown, immigrant, and working-class families — have long been taught that our worth is measured by productivity. That burnout is normal. That rest must be earned.
At The Nature Clinic, we believe rest is resistance, and that nature is not a luxury but a human necessity.
In a world shaped by trauma, disconnection, and constant demand, we’re creating spaces, right in our schools and neighborhoods, where healing feels possible again. Through gardens, mindfulness, art, and community care, we’re helping youth and families pause, breathe, and rediscover what it means to feel grounded, connected, and whole.
